Awakened Attitude

By Gary Stewart

When the Rosicrucian Imperator and philosopher Gary Stewart is asked to demonstrate psychic abilities, he's been known to lift his arm ... thus proving that the mind can move matter.

This collection of 19 of Stewart's essays is another example of Stewart's philosophy of making the profound seem simple. It may also be the defining statement on modern mysticism.

Writing during the period between 1984 and 1989, Stewart addressed not only the tradition and history of the movement, but the future of Rosicrucianism as well.

Groups such as Stewart's Confraternity of the Rose Cross actively work to help students of mysticism develop the knowledge and skills needed to enhance their spiritual evolution. In this collection of essays, Stewart reminds sincere seekers the goal of Rosicrucianism isn't simply personal fulfillment and attainment.

The purpose of Rosicrucianism is to help all humanity evolve to realize its full potential. Study and application are good, but wholehearted, cheerful service to our fellow man is better.

"Our purpose is service," Stewart writes. "Our tools are the principles that we all know and understand within our hearts, but more important than that is the application of those principals to all aspects of our lives."

Stewart's essays blend a lifetime of serious study in the field of philosophy and metaphysics with a straightforward sense of humor. Unlike many authors writing on esotericism, Stewart studiously avoids discussing techniques for developing "psychic abilities" and "higher consciousness" and concentrates soley upon the implications of study and application.

Rather than promising miracles, his goal is to help readers understand the vast responsibility that comes with the miracle of their own existence. And, while Stewart doesn't pretend to teach mind reading, this book does offer much food for thought which just may prompt readers to spend more time in quiet contemplation of their own minds and spirits.

After reading the essays in Awakened Attitude, readers may even come to understand that they can move mountains using the power of their minds. It's a simple process. Identify what needs to be done to help mankind ... then do it.

Perhaps that's the greatest value of this book. Gary Stewart has taken the time to show people that there are no magic secrets to Rosicrucianism. There is only the sincere to desire to help mankind and the awakened attitude needed to make the effort.
